Secondary Thermostat - Turbocharged Engine

NOTE:
Turbocharged engines use a orifice plate in place of a secondary thermostat.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Remove the air filter assembly. Refer to Engine/Air Intake System/BODY, Air Cleaner - Removal
- Partially drain the cooling system. See Cooling - Standard Procedure
- Disconnect the ECT sensor electrical connector 2).
- Remove the coolant hose (1) from the thermostat housing (2).
- Remove the coolant hose (4) from the coolant adapter (6).
- Remove the coolant hose (5) from the coolant adapter (6)
- Remove the coolant hose (7) from the coolant adapter (6).
- Remove the coolant hose (8) from the coolant adapter (6).
- Remove the coolant adapter mounting bolts (9).
- Remove the coolant adapter (6) and the orifice plate.
