Secondary Thermostat - Gas Engine

1 - COOLANT HOSE (REAR)
2 - COOLANT ADAPTER
3 - RADIATOR HOSE
4 - RADIATOR HOSE (FRONT)
  1. Position the thermostat into the cylinder head.
  2. Inspect the water pump inlet tube O-rings for damage before installing the tube in the coolant adapter. Replace O-ring as necessary.
  3. Lubricate the O-rings with soapy water.
  4. Position the coolant adapter on the water pump inlet tube and the cylinder head.
  5. Install the coolant adapter mounting bolts. Tighten the bolts to 18 N.m (159 in. lbs.).
  6. Connect the front coolant hose (1).
  7. Connect the two rear coolant hoses (1).
  8. Connect the radiator hose (3).
  9. Install the air filter housing. Refer to Engine/Air Intake System/BODY, Air Cleaner - Installation
  10. Fill the cooling system. See Cooling - Standard Procedure .
