PUMP, Water: Installation: Diesel

- Clean the O-ring mating surfaces on water pump (2) and front of timing chain cover.
- Install O-ring onto water pump (2).
- Apply a small amount of petroleum jelly to lubricate O-ring.
- Install water pump and mounting bolts. Tighten bolts (1) to mounting bolts to 24 N.m (18 ft. lbs.).
- Install timing belt. .
- Evacuate air and refill cooling system. See Cooling/Engine/PUMP, Water - Standard Procedure
- Check cooling system for leaks. See Cooling - Diagnosis and Testing
