Upper Intake Manifold: Non-Turbo

Disconnect inlet air temperature sensor and make-up air hose (1) from clean air hose.

Remove air cleaner housing (1) and clean air hose assembly.
Disconnect negative cable from battery.

Remove throttle and speed control cables from throttle lever and bracket.

Disconnect manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor (1).

Disconnect idle air control (IAC) motor (1) and throttle position sensor (TPS) (3) wiring connectors.

Disconnect proportional purge hoses (1).

Disconnect brake booster hose.
Disconnect PCV hose from intake manifold.

Remove rear intake manifold support bracket (1).
Remove upper intake manifold fasteners.
Remove upper intake manifold.

If further service is required, cover the lower intake manifold openings to prevent foreign materials from entering the engine.
