Diagnostic Test
- TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, erase all Satellite Radio DTCs.
- Turn the ignition and radio on.
- Put the satellite radio in seek up mode for two loops around the band cycle.
- With the scan tool, read the DTCs.
Does the scan tool display active: B156B-Satellite Radio Antenna Circuit?
Yes
- Go to step 2
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension. Repair as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure .
- TEST RADIO NOTE: In order to perform this test, you must secure a Known Good Satellite Antenna.
- With the scan tool, record the DTCs.
- Erase the DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Satellite Radio Antenna connector at the Radio.
- Install a Known Good Satellite Radio Antenna at the back of the Radio.
- Turn the ignition and radio on.
- Put the satellite radio in seek up mode for two loops around the band cycle.
- With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: B156B-Satellite Radio Antenna Circuit as Active?
Yes
- Replace the Satellite Radio in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure .
No
- Go to step 3
- ANTENNA CABLE
- With the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Known Good Satellite Radio Antenna
- Re-connect the vehicle Satellite Radio Antenna connector at the Radio.
- Disconnect the Satellite Radio Antenna connector at the Antenna and install the Known Good Satellite Radio Antenna.
- Turn the ignition and the radio on.
- Put the satellite radio in seek up mode for two loops around the band cycle.
- With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: B156B-Satellite Radio Antenna Circuit as Active?
Yes
- Go to step 4
No
- Replace the Satellite Radio Antenna Cable as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure .
- SATELLITE RADIO ANTENNA CABLE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Locate the intermediate Satellite Radio Antenna connector.
- Disconnect and inspect the intermediate Satellite Radio Antenna connector.
Was the connector clean and secure?
No
- Clean and secure the Satellite Radio Antenna intermediate connector.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure .
Yes
- Replace the Satellite Radio Antenna Cable as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure .
