2.7L Engine

  1. Disconnect negative cable.
    2. Fig 1: Accessory Belts

  2. Remove accessory drive belts (6). Refer to (Refer to COOLING/ACCESSORY DRIVE/DRIVE BELTS - REMOVAL) .
  3. Raise and support vehicle.
  4. Remove left front wheel.

  5. Remove the lower engine splash shield (2).
  6. Drain cooling system. Refer to Cooling - Standard Procedure .

  7. Remove the A/C compressor bolts (1).
  8. Position the A/C compressor (3) aside.

  9. Remove the nuts (4) that secure the heater line (3) to the thermostat housing and position aside.
  10. Remove the upper thermostat housing bolt (2).
  11. Remove the lower thermostat housing studs (5).
  12. Remove thermostat and housing (1).
  13. Remove the hose from the thermostat housing.
