Hub And Bearing: Installation: RWD

NOTE: Prior to installation, inspect magnetic encoder (for wheel speed sensor) (2) for any damage and make sure any metal debris sticking to it is removed.

NOTE: Always install a new hub nut. The original hub nut is one-time use only and should be discarded when removed.

Slide hub and bearing onto knuckle spindle.
Install hub nut (1) on end of spindle. Tighten hub nut to 213 N.m (152 ft. lbs.) torque.
Install brake rotor, then disc brake caliper and adapter assembly. Refer to Brakes/Hydraulic/Mechanical/ROTOR, Brake - Installation
NOTE: Install a new dust cap to preserve seal integrity.
Install NEW dust cap (2) on hub and bearing.

Install tire and wheel assembly (1). Refer to Tires and Wheels - Installation . Tighten wheel mounting nuts (3) to 150 N.m (110 ft. lbs.) torque.
Lower vehicle.

Pump brake pedal several times to ensure vehicle has a firm brake pedal before moving vehicle.
Check and adjust brake fluid level in reservoir (1) as necessary.
Road test vehicle and make several stops to wear off any foreign material on brakes and to seat brake pads.
