Fluid Check

  1. Raise and support vehicle.

  2. Clean the area around the transfer case plugs (2) and (3).
    NOTE: Inspect all the transfer case plug seals and replace as necessary.
  3. Remove the transfer case fill plug (3).
  4. Remove the transfer case drain plug (2) and allow the transfer case lubricant to drain into a suitable container.
  5. When the fluid has stopped draining, install the drain plug (2) and tighten to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
  6. Using the fill hole (3), fill the transfer case with 1.0 L +/- 0.05 L (1.05 quart +/- 0.05 quart).
  7. Install the fill plug (3) and tighten to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs).
