Column Mount

  1. Place the shifter in PARK
  2. Raise the vehicle.

  3. Remove the gearshift cable retaining clip (4) (if equipped).
  4. Disconnect the gearshift cable (1) from the shift lever (3), and remove cable from bracket (2).
  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Remove the instrument panel side trim.
  7. Remove the knee bolster fasteners, and the knee bolster.
  8. If equipped, disconnect the trunk release harness connector from the trunk release switch on the knee bolster.

  9. Remove the screws (3), and the instrument panel steering column cover reinforcement (1).

  10. Remove the silencer panel fasteners and silencer panel (1).

  11. If equipped, remove the tie strap (1) that secures the shift cable (3) to the shift bracket (2).

  12. Disconnect the shift cable (2) from the shift mechanism (1).
  13. Disconnect the shift cable from to cable bracket (3).

  14. Remove the shifter cable grommet (3) from the opening in the dash panel (4), and remove the shifter cable.
