Shock Absorber: Installation

- Install the shock absorber (2) by first attaching the top shock absorber eye to the body bracket (3) using the upper mounting bolt (1). Do not fully tighten the bolt at this time.
- Raise or lower the jack as necessary until the shock absorber lower mounting bolt (5) can be inserted through the axle flange and the shock absorber lower mounting eye.
- Install the washer (6) and nut (7) on the lower mounting bolt (5). Tighten the lower mounting bolt to 88 N.m (65 ft. lbs.).
- Tighten the upper shock absorber mounting bolt (1) to 99 N.m (73 ft. lbs.).
- Remove the jack.
- Install tire and wheel assembly (1) (Refer to TIRES/WHEELS - INSTALLATION) . Install and tighten wheel mounting nuts (3) to 135 N.m (100 ft. lbs.).
- Lower the vehicle.
