Rear Suspension: Bar-Stabilizer: Installation

NOTE:
Install the stabilizer bar (2), cushions (3) and retainers (4) on the vehicle as an assembly.
- To install the cushions and retainers on the stabilizer bar, (Refer to SUSPENSION/REAR/STABILIZER BAR CUSHION - INSTALLATION) .
- Hook the lower ends of the cushion retainers (1) in the slot in the rear of the axle (2), then rotate the opposite end of the retainers upward so the mounting bolts (3) can be installed.
- Install a mounting bolt (3) though each cushion retainer (1), into the threads in the rear axle (2). Tighten the retainer bolts to 61 N.m (45 ft. lbs.).
1 - LINK 2 - STABILIZER BAR 3 - CUSHION 4 - RETAINER NOTE: Stabilizer bar link fasteners need to be tightened to specifications when the vehicle is at curb height. - Install a stabilizer bar link bolt and nut attaching each end of the stabilizer bar (2) to a link. Do not tighten the bolts at this time.
- On both sides of the vehicle, install the tire and wheel assembly (1) (Refer to TIRES/WHEELS - INSTALLATION) . Install and tighten wheel mounting nuts (3) to 135 N.m (100 ft. lbs.).
- Lower the vehicle.
- Tighten the stabilizer bar link bolts to 65 N.m (48 ft. lbs.).
