Section 79 (Interior & Exterior (1 Of 2)): Hood: Hinge: Installation

- If installing a new hinge (2), paint the hinge prior to installation.
- Position the hinge onto the hood (1) and fender (3) and align the hinge to the previously marked locations.
- Install the nuts that secure the hinge to the hood and fender. Tighten the nuts to 33 N.m (24 ft. lbs.).
- Install the cowl grille screen (Refer to BODY/EXTERIOR/SCREEN-COWL GRILLE - INSTALLATION) .
- Remove the support and verify hood alignment and operation. The hood should fit flush across the top surfaces along fenders and have even gaps aligned to 4 mm (0.160 in.) to the adjacent body panels.
