Removal - Convertible

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Replacement of the header molding retaining clips is required anytime a header molding is reinstalled. Failure to replace the snap-type retaining clips can result in poor header molding retention.

  1. Lower the convertible top.
  2. Using a trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, remove the windshield header molding (1) by releasing the eleven snap retainers (one at a time) from the windshield opening frame (2).
NOTE: When replacement of the snap-type retaining clips is required, make sure NOT to damage the retainer towers on the back of the header molding. Damage to the towers will require replacement of the header molding.
  3. If the windshield header molding is to be reused, remove and discard the eleven snap retainers from the molded plastic towers on the back of the molding.
