Cover-Cylinder Head: Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove upper intake manifold (Refer to ENGINE/MANIFOLDS/INTAKE MANIFOLD - REMOVAL)  .
  3. Disconnect make-up air hose and PCV hoses from cylinder head cover. See Fig 1.

  4. Disconnect the ignition coil (2) and capacitor electrical connectors.
  5. Remove the spark plug cables, twist spark plug boots, then pull straight up.
  6. Remove ignition coil bolts and then remove the ignition coil and spark plug cables as an assembly.
  7. Remove ignition coil capacitor.

  8. Remove cylinder head cover (2) bolts.
  9. Remove cylinder head cover (2).
