Tube-Water Pump Inlet-2.0/2.4L: Removal

The water pump inlet tube connects the water pump to the radiator and heater core. This tube is sealed by an O-ring and held in place by fasteners to the block.
CAUTION:
Do not use any sharp tools to remove hoses from inlet tube. This may cause the tube to leak.
- Drain cooling system, (Refer to COOLING/ENGINE/COOLANT - STANDARD PROCEDURE) .
- Remove upper radiator closure panel and center brace, (Refer to BODY/EXTERIOR/RADIATOR CLOSURE PANEL - REMOVAL) .
- Remove lower radiator hose and heater return hose from the inlet tube (3). See Fig 1.
- Remove the inlet tube to block bolts.
- Rotate tube while removing from the engine block.
