2.2L Diesel

1 - RADIATOR FAN SHROUD
2 - SCREWS

WARNING: Do not open the radiator draincock with the system hot and under pressure because serious burns from coolant can occur.
NOTE: The fan motor, fan, and the shroud are serviced as an assembly.
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Drain cooling system below upper radiator hose level, (Refer to COOLING/ENGINE/COOLANT - STANDARD PROCEDURE) .
  3. Remove grille, (Refer to BODY/EXTERIOR/GRILLE - REMOVAL) .
  4. Remove upper radiator support crossmember, (Refer to BODY/EXTERIOR/RADIATOR CROSSMEMBER - REMOVAL) .
  5. Remove upper radiator hose from radiator.
  6. Hoist vehicle.
  7. Disconnect radiator fan electrical connector.
  8. Remove the two lower fan screws (2, 3). See Fig 1.
  9. Lower vehicle and remove the remaining radiator fan attaching screws.
    CAUTION: Care should be taken not to damage the radiator cooling fins and tubes during fan removal.
  10. Remove radiator fan by lifting up from the engine compartment.
