Section 46 (HVAC System (Service Information)): Plumbing: Receiver/Drier-A/C: Removal

Refer to the applicable warnings and cautions for this system before performing the following operation (Refer to HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING/PLUMBING - WARNINGS) and (Refer to HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING/PLUMBING - CAUTIONS) . Failure to follow the warnings and cautions could result in possible personal injury or death.
- Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system (refer to REFRIGERANT SYSTEM RECOVERY ).
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Remove the front fascia (Refer to REMOVAL ).
- Remove the screw (1) that secures the receiver/drier mounting bracket (2) to the right end of the A/C condenser (3).
- Remove the bolt (4) that secures the receiver/drier (5) to the A/C condenser.
- Disconnect the receiver/drier from the A/C condenser and remove and discard the dual-plane seal.
- Install plugs in, or tape over the opened receiver/drier fitting and the condenser ports.
