Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, clear all TIPM DTCs.
- With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go to step 2
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. If the DTC is stored, check for an intermittent condition. Inspect the wiper on/off relay (16) for proper fit. Look for pushed out or corroded terminals at the relay socket.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. See DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure .
- CHECK THE WIPER ON/OFF RELAY (16)
- Turn the ignition off.
- Verify the related fuse is not open.
- Remove the wiper on/off relay (16) and substitute it with a known good relay.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Turn the windshield wipers on.
Do the windshield wipers operate?
Yes
- Replace the wiper on/off relay (16).
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. See DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure .
No
- Replace the TIPM in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. See DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure .
