Diagnostic Test

- DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) IS ACTIVE
- Turn the ignition on.
- Using the scan tool, select view DTCs. Record DTC and DTC Environmental data.
- Using the scan tool, clear stored DTCs.
- Cycle the ignition switch off then on.WARNING: Apply the parking brake. The vehicle may roll when the Transmission is shifted out of Park.
- Shift into Reverse for at least five seconds, then move the shifter back into Park.
- Using the scan tool, select view DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go to step 2
No
- Perform the APS-INTERMITTENT CONDITION test. Refer to DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Memory Seat (MSMD) - Standard Procedure .
- CHECK ADJUSTABLE PEDALS SWITCH STATUS
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Adjustable Pedals Switch harness connector.
- Visually inspect the connector terminals for damage or corrosion.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Using the scan tool, select view DTCs. Record DTC and DTC Environmental data.
- Using the scan tool, clear stored DTCs.
- Cycle the ignition switch off then on.WARNING: Apply the parking brake. The vehicle may roll when the Transmission is shifted out of Park.
- Shift into Reverse for at least five seconds, then move the shifter back into Park.
- Using the scan tool, select view DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go to step 3
No
- Replace the Adjustable Pedals Switch in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the APS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Memory Seat (MSMD) - Standard Procedure .

- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the TIPM C2 harness connector.
- Measure the resistance between ground and the (A72) Adjustable Pedals Control circuit at the Adjustable Pedals Switch harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (A72) Adjustable Pedals Control circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the APS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Memory Seat (MSMD) - Standard Procedure .
No
- Replace the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the APS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Memory Seat (MSMD) - Standard Procedure .
