Diagnostic Test

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Dodge Charger and 2010 Chrysler 300. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION 
    NOTE: Prior to testing, check and inspect that all applicable fuses are functional and working properly.
    1. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs
    2. Operate the Fog Lamp Switch several times.
    3. Turn the ignition on and wait 30 seconds.
    4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display: B168F-FRONT FOG LAMP SWITCH STUCK?

      Yes 

      • Go to step  2

      No 

  2. HEADLAMP SWITCH SHORTED 
    1. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
    2. Disconnect the Headlamp Switch connector.
    3. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display: B168F-FRONT FOG LAMP SWITCH STUCK?

      No 

      Yes 

      • Go to step  3
  3. (L307) HEADLAMP SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND

    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Cluster C1 connector.
    3. Measure the resistance between ground and the (L307) Headlamp Switch Mux circuit.

      Is the resistance below 10000.0 Ohms?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go to step  4
  4. (L307) SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO (L900) SWITCH RETURN CIRCUIT

    1. Disconnect the Cluster C2 connector.
    2. Measure the resistance between the (L307) Switch Mux circuit and the (L900) Switch Return circuit.

      Is the resistance below 10000.0 Ohms?

      Yes 

      No
