Diagnostic Test

  1. VERIFY DTC IS ACTIVE 
    NOTE: Diagnose all CAN B and C communication failures before continuing.
    1. Ignition on, engine not running.
    2. Using a scan tool, read ACC DTCs.

      Is the DTC active at this time?

      Yes 

      • Go to step  2

      No 

  2. VERIFY TCM IS ACTIVE ON THE CAN C BUS 
    1. With the scan tool, select ECU View.
    2. Verify that the TCM is active on the bus.

      Is the TCM active on the bus?

      Yes 

      • Go to step  3

      No 

  3. CHECK FOR ACTIVE OR STORED DTCs IN TCM 

    Are any DTCs active or stored in the TCM?

    Yes 

    No 

    • Go to step  4
  4. CHECK FOR ACTIVE OR STORED COMMUNICATION DTCs IN TIPM 
    1. Using a scan tool, read TIPM DTCs.

      Are any active or stored TCM Communication DTCs set in the TIPM?

      Yes 

      No
