Upper Intake Manifold

- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Disconnect the Inlet Air Temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the air inlet hose from the throttle body.
- Disconnect the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor electrical connector.
1 - PCV HOSE 2 - PURGE HOSE 3 - BRAKE BOOSTER HOSE 4 - THROTTLE BRACKET 5 - ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL - Disconnect the PCV hose (1), purge hose (2) and power brake booster hose (3) from the upper intake manifold.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the electronic throttle control (5).
- Remove the fasteners from the throttle body and cylinder head and remove the throttle bracket (4).
- Remove the wiper module, strut tower support and EGR tube (1). Refer to Emissions Control/Exhaust Gas Recirculation/TUBE, Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) - Removal .
- Disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the Short Runner Valve (2).
1 - INTAKE MANIFOLD 2 - PENCIL BRACKETS - Remove the fasteners (2) from the intake manifold support brackets.
- Remove the upper intake manifold retaining bolts, insulation foam pad and manifold. Clean all gasket sealing surfaces.
