Lower Intake Manifold

- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Perform the fuel pressure release procedure. Refer to Fuel System/Fuel Delivery - Standard Procedure .
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling - Standard Procedure .
- Disconnect the upper radiator hose (2) from the thermostat housing.
1 - INTAKE MANIFOLD 2 - PENCIL BRACKETS - Remove the upper intake manifold (1). See Engine/Manifolds/MANIFOLD, Intake - Removal .
1 - COOLANT PIPE 2 - HEATER HOSE 3 - COOLANT RESERVOIR HOSE - Disconnect the heater hose (2) from the coolant pipe (1).
- Disconnect the coolant container hose (3) from the coolant pipe (1).
1 - FUEL RAIL 2 - IGNITION COIL 3 - LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD 4 - PCV VALVE - Disconnect the electrical connectors from the fuel injectors and the coolant temperature sensor.
- Disconnect the fuel supply hose from the fuel rail (1). Refer to Fuel System/Fuel Delivery/FITTING, Quick Connect - Standard Procedure .
- Remove the bolts attaching the fuel rail (1).
- Remove the fuel rail and injectors as an assembly.
1 - LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD 2 - GASKET - Remove the bolts attaching the lower intake manifold and remove the intake manifold (1).
