Column Mount

- Place the shifter in PARK
- Raise the vehicle.
- Remove the gearshift cable retaining clip (4) (if equipped).
- Disconnect the gearshift cable (1) eyelet at transmission manual shift lever (3) and pull the cable out of the mounting bracket (2).
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the instrument panel side trim.
- Remove the knee bolster fasteners, and the knee bolster.
- If equipped, disconnect the trunk release harness connector from the trunk release switch on the knee bolster.
- Remove the screws (3), and the instrument panel steering column cover reinforcement (1).
- Remove the silencer panel fasteners and silencer panel (1).
- If equipped, remove the tie strap (1) that secures the shift cable (3) to the shift bracket (2).
- Disconnect the shift cable (2) to the shift mechanism (1).
- Disconnect the shift cable from to cable bracket (3).
- Remove the shifter cable grommet (3) from the opening in the dash panel (4), and remove the shifter cable.
