LHD - Module Locked

NOTE: If a NEW column lock module has been installed, a new Wireless Ignition Node (WIN) must also be installed, then a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to initialize the new module before the vehicle can be operated. See Electrical/Vehicle Theft Security - Standard Procedure .
  1. Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering/Column - Removal .
  2. Break the black cover off of the module with a screw driver.
  3. Remove the two terminal pins jumpers (1) to the motor (2).

  4. Connect a 12 volt power supply to the motor terminals, connect the negative to the pin next to the green connector (1) and the positive to the pin farthest away from the green connector (2).
  5. Allow the motor to unlock the steering column bolt, you will hear the motor load up and try to twist when the bolt has completely retracted.

  6. Remove the steering column lock retainer (1).
  7. Remove and disconnect the steering column lock module from the steering column (2).
