3.0L Diesel

- Position the gasket and catalyst assembly (1) into the vehicle.
- Install the catalytic converter bracket mounting bolt. Tighten the bolt to 25 N-m (18 ft. lbs.)
- Install the catalyst to diesel particulate filter (2) flange bolts. Tighten the flange bolts to 12 N-m (106 in. lbs.) at this time.
- Connect the downstream oxygen sensor connectors.
- Connect the exhaust temperature sensors.
- Connect the differential pressure ports (5 & 6).
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the catalytic converter to downstream catalytic converter clamp. Tighten to snug fit at this time.
- Install the catalytic to turbocharger bolts. Only finger tighten the bolts at this time.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Check the catalyst assembly for proper clearance. Adjust as needed.
- Tighten the catalyst assembly to diesel particulate filter flange bolts to 34 N-m (25 ft. lbs.) at this time.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Tighten the catalytic converter to downstream catalytic converter clamp to 50 N-m (37 ft. lbs.).
- Tighten the down pipe to turbocharger bolts to 20 N.m (15 ft. lbs.) and then add another 90° of rotation.
- Install the engine trim cover
- Reconnect the negative battery cable.
- Start the vehicle and check for exhaust leaks. Repair as necessary.
