3.0L Diesel

  1. Clean all sealing surfaces.
  2. Position and install the water pump. Tighten M6 bolts to 14 N.m (124 lbs. in.) and M8 bolts to 20 N.m (177 lbs. in.).
  3. Install the EGR valve. Refer to Emissions Control/Exhaust Gas Recirculation/VALVE, Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) - Installation .
  4. Install the accessory drive belt. See Cooling/Accessory Drive/BELT, Serpentine - Installation .
  5. Install the upper radiator hose.
  6. Install engine cover. Refer to Engine - Installation .
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8. Evacuate air and refill cooling system. See Cooling/Engine/PUMP, Water - Standard Procedure 
  9. Check the cooling system for leaks, repair as necessary. See Cooling - Diagnosis and Testing .
