3.0L Diesel

  1. Check condition of all pulleys.
    CAUTION: When installing the serpentine accessory drive belt, the belt MUST be routed correctly. If not, the engine may overheat due to the water pump rotating in the wrong direction.
  2. Position accessory drive belt (3) around all pulleys except the idler pulley.
  3. Using a 12 point, 17mm socket and a long handle ratchet (3/8" drive), rotate the belt tensioner (5) arm counterclockwise until it contacts its stop position.
  4. Route the accessory drive belt (3) around the idler (8) and slowly let the belt tensioner (5) rotate into the belt (3). Make sure the belt (3) is seated onto all pulleys.

  5. Install the mixing chamber (1).
  6. Install the charge air inlet hose to the mixing chamber (1).
  7. Install the intake air tube. Refer to Engine/Air Intake System/AIR CLEANER - Installation
  8. Install the engine cover.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
