TENSIONER-Timing Chain

NOTE: Verify proper timing alignment prior to tensioner installation. See Engine/Valve Timing - Standard Procedure .

Reset tensioner. See Engine/Valve Timing/TENSIONER, Engine Timing - Installation .
NOTE: Inspect tensioner O-ring and snap ring, replace as necessary.
Install tensioner (1) in cylinder head.

NOTE: Tensioner retaining plate dowel pin (3) must be aligned with hole in cylinder head for proper installation.
Inspect tensioner retaining plate O-ring (2) and replace as necessary.

Install tensioner retaining plate (2) and attaching bolts (3). Tighten bolts to 12 N.m (105 in. lbs.).
