Intake Manifold Upper

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the throttle body air inlet hose and air cleaner housing assembly (3). See Engine/Air Intake System/BODY, Air Cleaner - Removal .
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor and the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC).
  4. Disconnect the vapor purge hose, brake booster hose and Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose.

  5. Remove the manifold support brackets (1).
  6. Remove the upper EGR tube from the intake manifold, and the upper EGR tube from the EGR valve.

  7. Remove the manifold attaching bolts.

  8. Remove the upper manifold (2).
  9. Remove the foam insulator (3).
  10. Inspect manifold (2). See Engine/Manifolds/MANIFOLD, Intake - Inspection .
