VALVES, Intake and Exhaust: Inspection: Inspection: Valves

- Clean and inspect valves thoroughly. Replace burned, warped and cracked valves.
- Inspect retainer lock grooves for wear or damage (2).
- Inspect valve face (4) for wear and pitting.
- Measure valve stems (3) and margins (5) for wear. For valve specifications, see Engine - Specifications .
NOTE:
Valve stems (3) are chrome plated and should not be polished.
