Section 23 (Body - Interior & Exterior): Hood: Hinge: Removal

- Open and support the hood (2) with a suitable prop or block.
- If the vehicle is so equipped, disconnect the upper end of the gas support cylinder from the upper bracket of the hood hinge (3). (Refer to BODY/HOOD/SUPPORT CYLINDER - REMOVAL) .
- Mark the location of the hood hinge upper bracket on the hood (2) inner panel to aid reinstallation.
- Remove the two screws (1) that secure the hinge to the hood.
- Mark the hinge lower bracket location on the inside of the front fender ledge (5) to aid reinstallation.
- Remove the two screws (4) that secure the hinge to the fender.
- Remove the hood hinge from the vehicle.
