Section 23 (Body - Interior & Exterior): DECKLID/Hatch/Liftgate/Tailgate: DECKLID: Removal

Open the deck lid.
Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
Remove the cover from over the latch on the inside of the deck lid. (Refer to BODY/DECKLID/COVER - DECKLID LATCH - REMOVAL) .
Disconnect the connector (2) of the body wire harness take out for the deck lid (1) from the latch connector receptacle (3).

Disengage the two retainers (4) that secure the deck lid take out (2) of the body wire harness to the underside of the deck lid.
Disengage the wire grommet (1) near the right hinge from the underside of the deck lid.
Carefully remove the deck lid take out of the body wire harness from between the inner and outer deck lid panels.

Mark both upper hinge bracket (3) locations on the deck lid inner panel (1) to aid reinstallation.
With the aid of an assistant, support the deck lid while removing the two screws (2) that secure each upper hinge bracket to the deck lid.
Remove the deck lid from the vehicle.
