2.7L Engine

  1. Clean gasket sealing surfaces.
    NOTE: Install thermostat with the bleed valve located at the 12 o'clock position, between tabs on seal.

  2. Install new seal (4) onto the thermostat housing (2).
  3. Install thermostat (5) and housing to cylinder block. Tighten attaching bolt (3) and studs (1) to 12 N.m (105 in. lbs.).
  4. Install radiator hose to the thermostat housing.

  5. Install the heater line (3) to the thermostat housing (1). Tighten nuts (4) to 12 N.m (105 in. lbs.).

  6. Install the A/C compressor (5). Tighten attaching bolt (1) to 50 N.m (105 in. lbs.). Front bolts (2 and 3) to 26 N.m (19 ft. lbs.).

  7. Install the lower engine splash shield (2).
  8. Install the left front wheel.
  9. Lower the vehicle.

  10. Install accessory drive belt (6). Refer to (Refer to COOLING/ACCESSORY DRIVE/DRIVE BELTS - INSTALLATION) .
  11. Reconnect negative battery cable.
  12. Fill cooling system STANDARD PROCEDURE .
