Section 227 (Engine & Automatic Transmission Cooling System): Engine: Pump-Water: Removal: Removal-2.7L

1 - WATER PUMP
2 - BOLTS
3 - BOLTS
WARNING: Do not remove pressure cap with the system hot and pressurized. Serious burns from coolant can result.
  1. Drain cooling system. See STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Remove radiator fan assembly. See REMOVAL .
  3. Remove accessory drive belt. See REMOVAL .
    NOTE: The water pump is driven by the primary timing chain.
  4. Remove the timing chain and all chain guides. Refer to REMOVAL .
  5. Remove bolts (2 and 3) attaching water pump (1) to block.
  6. Remove water pump (1) and gasket.
