WARNING:
Do not remove pressure cap with the system hot and pressurized. Serious burns from coolant can result.
- Drain cooling system. See STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove radiator fan assembly. See REMOVAL .
- Remove accessory drive belt. See REMOVAL . NOTE: The water pump is driven by the primary timing chain.
- Remove the timing chain and all chain guides. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Remove bolts (2 and 3) attaching water pump (1) to block.
- Remove water pump (1) and gasket.
