Freewheeling Clutch

Freewheeling clutches are installed in the front planetary gear set between the sun gear and the stator shaft, and in the rear planetary gear set between the sun gear and the intermediate shaft. See Fig 1.

The freewheel consists of an outer race (4), an inner race (7), a number of locking elements (3) and a cage (6) for these locking elements.
