Outer Tie Rod - AWD

CAUTION: When rotating inner tie rod, use care not to twist bellows at inner tie rod. Remove clamp (2) at inner tie rod and make sure bellows moves freely before rotating inner tie rod.
  1. Thread outer tie rod (4) onto inner tie rod (3), Install outer tie rod same number of turns as when removed.

  2. Install outer tie rod end (2) into steering knuckle (3). Install and tighten nut (1) to 85 N.m (63 ft. lbs.).

  3. Install tire and wheel assemblies (1). Tighten wheel mounting nuts (3) to 150 N.m (110 ft. lbs.) (Police - 190 N.m (140 ft. lbs.)). Refer to INSTALLATION .
  4. Lower vehicle.
  5. Perform wheel alignment setting toe to specifications. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  6. Tighten tie rod jam nut (1) to 75 N.m (55 ft. lbs.).
