Brake/Transmission Shift Interlock Cable

- Disconnect the battery negative cable.
- Loosen set screw (2) and remove knob (1) from shifter handle. See Fig 1.
1 - CENTER CONSOLE - Remove the center console assembly (1). See Fig 2.
1 - BEZEL 2 - SCREW (4) - Remove shifter bezel (1). See Fig 3.
1 - INTERLOCK CABLE 2 - SHIFTER ASSEMBLY - Disconnect the shifter/ignition interlock cable (1) from the shifter lever and bracket (2). Remove the cable core end from the plastic cam of the shifter mechanism and release cable from shifter bracket. See Fig 4.
1 - LOWER COVER - Remove the steering column lower cover (1). See Fig 5.
1 - UPPER SHROUD 2 - LOWER SHROUD - Remove the steering column upper and lower shrouds (1,2). See Fig 6.
1 - IGNITION SWITCH 2 - CLIP 3 - INTERLOCK CABLE 4 - BTSI SOLENOID - Disconnect the Brake/Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) solenoid connector from the interlock cable (3). See Fig 7.
1 - ACC 2 - LOCK 3 - OFF 4 - ON/RUN 5 - START - Rotate the ignition key to the "OFF" (3) or "ON/RUN" (4) position. See Fig 8.
1 - IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER 2 - INTERLOCK CABLE - Squeeze the interlock cable locking tab (2). See Fig 9. Remove the cable from the interlock housing.
- Release cable from retaining clips and remove through opening under steering column.
