Gearshift Cable: Adjustment

- Loosen set screw (2) and remove knob from shifter handle. See Fig 1.
1 - CENTER CONSOLE - Remove the center console assembly (1). See Fig 2.
1 - GEARSHIFT CABLE ADJUSTMENT SCREW - Adjust gearshift cable as follows:
- Place gearshift lever in the PARK (P) position.
- Loosen shift cable adjustment screw (1). See Fig 3.
- Move transaxle manual lever to the PARK. Verify transaxle is in PARK by attempting to roll vehicle in either direction.
- Tighten shift cable adjustment screw to 8 N.m (70 in. lbs.) torque.
- Verify proper cable adjustment. Engine should start with the shifter lever in PARK (P) and NEUTRAL (N) positions ONLY.
1 - CENTER CONSOLE - Install center console assembly (1). See Fig 4.
1 - SHIFTER KNOB 2 - SET SCREW - Install gearshift knob (1) and tighten set screw (2) to 2 N.m (17 in. lbs.) torque. See Fig 5.
