Front Cover-Upper

  1. Remove upper torque strut (4) attaching bolts and set strut aside. Refer to REMOVAL .

  2. Turbocharger equipped vehicles: 
    1. Discharge and evacuate air conditioning system. Refer to HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING - SERVICE INFORMATION .
    2. Disconnect air conditioning lines at junction block (1) near upper timing belt cover.

  3. Remove upper timing belt cover fasteners (1) and remove cover.
