Convertible Top: Assembly-Latch: Removal: Assembly-Latch

  1. Position the folding convertible top to allow access to the latch system.
  2. Loosen the set screw that secures the D-handle to the handle base plate and remove the handle and its washer.
  3. Remove the twelve screws (1) that secure the canopy cover (2) to the front header.
  4. Remove the canopy cover adhesive tape from the front header edges and remove the cover from the header.

  5. Remove the tension from the tension cable (1) and disengage the cable from the spring (2).

  6. Remove the three clips (1) that secure the tension cable (2) to each side of the canopy cover and fold the cover back to the B-bow.

  7. Remove the nine screws that secure the front header trim panel (2) to the header (1) and remove the trim panel.

    NOTE: Place a reference mark along the outer edge of the latch hook base plates to ensure they are reinstalled to their original positions.
  8. Mark the position of each latch hook base plate (2).
  9. Remove the three screws (1) that secure each latch hook base plate.
  10. Remove the four screws (3) that secure the latch handle base plate (4) and remove the latch assembly.
