Seal - Crankshaft Oil Front: Removal

- Remove the crankshaft sprocket. (Refer to ENGINE/VALVE TIMING/TIMING BELT/CHAIN AND SPROCKETS - REMOVAL) .
- Tap the dowel pin (2) out of the crankshaft. See Fig 1.
1 - SPECIAL TOOL 6341A - Remove crankshaft seal using Tool 6341A (1). See Fig 2.CAUTION: Do not nick shaft seal surface or seal bore.
- Shaft seal lip surface must be free of varnish, dirt or nicks. Polish with 400 grit paper if necessary.
