Seal - Crankshaft Oil Front: Removal

1 - PIN PUNCH
2 - DOWEL
  1. Remove the crankshaft sprocket. (Refer to ENGINE/VALVE TIMING/TIMING BELT/CHAIN AND SPROCKETS - REMOVAL) .
  2. Tap the dowel pin (2) out of the crankshaft. See Fig 1.

  3. Remove crankshaft seal using Tool 6341A (1). See Fig 2.
    CAUTION: Do not nick shaft seal surface or seal bore.
  4. Shaft seal lip surface must be free of varnish, dirt or nicks. Polish with 400 grit paper if necessary.
