Lower Intake Manifold

1 - LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD
2 - GASKET
  1. Perform fuel pressure release procedure. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE PROCEDURE .
  2. Drain the cooling system. STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the thermostat housing.
  4. Remove the upper intake manifold. (Refer to ENGINE/MANIFOLDS/INTAKE MANIFOLD - REMOVAL) .
  5. Reposition power steering fluid reservoir and bracket.
  6. Disconnect the electrical connectors to fuel injectors and coolant temperature sensor.

    3 - COOLANT RESERVOIR HOSE
  7. Disconnect heater hose from the rear intake manifold. See Fig 2.
  8. Disconnect the coolant container hose at the rear intake manifold. See Fig 2.

    4 - PCV VALVE
  9. Disconnect the fuel supply hose from fuel rail. See Fig 3. (Refer to FUEL SYSTEM/FUEL DELIVERY/FUEL LINES - STANDARD PROCEDURE) .
  10. Remove the bolts attaching fuel rail.
  11. Remove fuel rail and injectors as an assembly.
  12. Remove bolts attaching lower intake and remove intake manifold. See Fig 1.
