Cover Cylinder Head - Left: Removal

1 - FUEL RAIL
2 - IGNITION COILS
3 - WIRING HARNESS
4 - LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD
WARNING: DO NOT START OR RUN ENGINE WITH CYLINDER HEAD COVER REMOVED FROM THE ENGINE. DAMAGE OR PERSONAL INJURY MAY OCCUR.
  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the upper intake manifold from the engine. (Refer to ENGINE/MANIFOLDS/INTAKE MANIFOLD - REMOVAL) .
  3. Cover lower intake manifold (4) with a suitable cover during service.
  4. Disconnect and remove the three ignition coils (2). See Fig 1.
  5. Remove the ground strap/resistor retaining bolt from the cylinder head cover.
  6. Lift up on the wire harness track (3) retaining tabs. See Fig 1.

  7. Completely loosen the cylinder head cover retaining bolts and remove the cylinder head cover. See Fig 2.
