Removal-2.2L Diesel

1 - BY-PASS HOSE
2 - THERMOSTAT HOUSING
3 - UPPER RADIATOR HOSE
NOTE: Inspect condition of all clamps and hoses, replace as necessary.
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Remove engine cover.
  3. Drain engine coolant below thermostat level using draincock only. See STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  4. Disconnect coolant temperature sensor electrical connector.
  5. Remove coolant hoses and by-pass (1) hose from thermostat housing. See Fig 1.
  6. Loosen accessory drive belt and reposition generator. Refer to REMOVAL .
  7. Remove thermostat housing and O-ring.
  8. Clean all sealing surfaces.
