Removal-2.2L Diesel

WARNING:
Do not open the radiator draincock with the system hot and under pressure because serious burns from coolant can occur.
NOTE:
The fan motor, fan, and the shroud are serviced as an assembly.
- Disconnect negative battery cable.
- Drain cooling system below upper radiator hose level, refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove grille. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Remove upper radiator support crossmember. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Remove upper radiator hose from radiator.
- Hoist vehicle.
- Disconnect radiator fan electrical connector.
- Remove the two lower fan screws (2 and 3).
- Lower vehicle and remove the remaining radiator fan attaching screws.CAUTION: Care should be taken not to damage the radiator cooling fins and tubes during fan removal.
- Remove radiator fan by lifting up from the engine compartment.
