Installation-2.2L Diesel

- Position water pump/power steering pump assembly into engine compartment.
- Raise vehicle.
- Install all 5 power steering pump mounting bolts securing pump assembly to mounting plate. Tighten bolts to 28 N.m (21 ft. lbs.) torque.
- Tighten all remaining bolts securing mounting plate to engine to 28 N.m (21 ft. lbs.) torque.
- Lower vehicle.
- Install rear mounting bolt fastening water pump to the engine. Tighten bolt to 14 N.m (124 in. lbs.) torque.
- Remount A/C compressor to engine and install all 4 mounting bolts. Tighten bolts to 28 N.m (21 ft. lbs.) torque.
- Install EGR mixing chamber.
- Install heater bypass hose at to water pump.
- Install heater hose tube at water pump.
- Install lower radiator hose at inlet to water pump.
- Install fluid supply hose to power steering pump.
- Install generator. Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Install engine cooling module (radiator, fan, A/C condenser, and turbo intercooler). See INSTALLATION .
- Raise vehicle.
- Using a lint free towel, wipe clean the open power steering hose end and the power steering pump port. Replace the used O-ring with new. Lubricate the O-ring with power steering fluid.
- Attach the power steering fluid pressure hose to the pump outlet port. Refer to INSTALLATION . Tighten power steering pressure hose tube nut to 32 N.m (23 ft. lbs.) torque.
- Install pump pulley, refer to refer to PUMP . Tighten 3 mounting bolts to 28 N.m (21 ft. lbs.) torque.
- Install accessory drive belt. See INSTALLATION .
- Install lower engine compartment silencer assembly and the drive belt splash shield.
- Lower vehicle.
- Install engine top appearance cover.
- Connect battery negative terminal.
- Fill cooling system. See STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Fill and bleed power steering system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Evacuate and recharge A/C system, refer to HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING - SERVICE INFORMATION .
- Check for leaks at all connections.
