Rear Wiper Motor - Wagon Only: Installation

  1. Inspect the shaft-to-liftgate seal (1) in liftgate.

  2. If seal is damaged, brittle, or deformed in any way replace. Position shaft seal (1) with the arrow in the UP position.

  3. Position wiper motor (3) in liftgate.

  4. Install the mounting nuts (1). Torque nuts to 8 N.m (70 in. lbs).

  5. Connect the electrical harness connector (5).

  6. Install lower liftgate trim panel (Refer to BODY/DECKLID/HATCH/LIFTGATE/TAILGATE/TRIM PANEL - INSTALLATION) .

  7. Install the rear wiper arm (Refer to ELECTRICAL/WIPERS/WASHERS/WIPER ARMS - INSTALLATION) . Torque nut to 18 N.m (13 ft. lbs.).
  8. Connect the battery negative cable.
