Upper Intake Manifold

Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
Disconnect the Inlet Air Temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector.
Remove the air inlet hose from the throttle body.

Disconnect the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor electrical connector.

1 - PCV HOSE

2 - PURGE HOSE

3 - BRAKE BOOSTER HOSE

4 - THROTTLE BRACKET

5 - ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL

Disconnect the PCV hose (1), purge hose (2) and power brake booster hose (3) from the upper intake manifold.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the electronic throttle control (5).
Remove the fasteners from the throttle body and cylinder head and remove the throttle bracket (4).

Remove the wiper module, strut tower support and EGR tube (1). Refer to Emissions Control/Exhaust Gas Recirculation/TUBE, Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) - Removal .

1 - Manifold Tuning Valve

2 - Short Runner Valve
Disconnect the electrical connectors from the manifold tuning valve (1) and short runner valve (2).

Remove the fasteners (2) from the intake manifold support brackets.
Remove the upper intake manifold retaining bolts, insulation foam pad and manifold. Clean all gasket sealing surfaces.
