Diagnostic Test
- (W12) REAR WIPER RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN NOTE: Check all applicable fuses prior to testing.
- Disconnect the TIPM C3 connector.
- Measure the resistance of the (W12) Rear Wiper Relay Control circuit between the TIPM and the Rear Wiper Relay.
Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (W12) Rear Wiper Relay Control circuit for an open condition.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. See DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure .
No
- Go to step 2
- INTEGRATED POWER MODULE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Replace the Rear Wiper relay with a known good relay.
- With the scan tool, clear all TIPM DTCs.
- Turn the Wipers ON then OFF.
- With the scan tool, read the TIPM DTCs.
Does the scan tool read: B231D-REAR WIPER MOTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN?
Yes
- Replace the Totally Integrated Power Module in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. See DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure .
No
- Replace the Rear Wiper Relay in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. See DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure .
